Competition FAQ’s

Competition fees are set by each event organization and cover entry, scheduling, and adjudication. These fees must be paid in advance to secure your dancer’s spot in their routines.

Fees are due before the event’s published deadline. Spots cannot be held without payment, so early submission is strongly encouraged.

Essentials include costumes, tights, shoes, makeup, hair supplies, water, snacks, and a cover‑up. A full checklist can be provided.

Each competition uses its own scoring system, typically involving technique, performance, choreography, and overall impression. Awards may include adjudications, placements, and special judges’ awards.

Many competitions prohibit photography and videography during performances for safety and copyright reasons. Families should follow posted rules. If audience members are caught taking photos or videos during a performance, points can be deducted from the dancer’s overall score.

All competition classes and all solos, duets, and trios will have the opportunity to participate in competitions.
